Big Love + Avril?

Last night I was catching up on the latest two episodes of HBO’s Big Love – thank god for Rogers On Demand – when to my surprise I hear Avril Lavigne’s Girlfriend (the remix, of course)… Bill, the main character of the show, just started to get it on with his potential fourth wife when suddenly ‘Hey! Hey! You! You! I Don’t Like Your Girlfriend’ starts to play in the background… It probably had to be one of the strangest music inclusions that I’ve heard on TV in the longest time. Unlike shows like Grey’s Anatomy and the recently deceased O.C., Big Love doesn’t rely on music to drive emotions so to hear, one of the most obnoxious songs of the summer on the show was a complete shocker…

Though, I have to admit, it’s out of the blue inclusion almost makes it genius…

p.s. for those that don’t know what Big Love is then please do yourself a favour and start watching!

UPDATE: Don’t read the episode guide because it may just spoil the season for you, like it almost did for me..
