Biggest music collaborations of 2010!

December 14th, 2010

This year we saw collaborations from some of music’s biggest players of the decade and some rookies that were called up from the minors. Whether you wanted pop, hip hop, rock, or a combination of genres, our list of collabo’s has the song you loved listening to this year. As our number six song tells you, Check It Out!

AirplanesB.o.B. and Hayley Williams

Ever since Run DMC and Aerosmith literally broke down the wall between rock and hip hop, the melding of these two genres has given us some of the best collabo’s in music. These two music heavyweights performed at almost every awards show this year and gave us a great track for dreamers.

Love the Way You LieRihanna and Eminem

Arguably the biggest song of the year from the two biggest artists of the year, the chart-topping song had the big budget video to go with it. Staring Lost’s Dominic Monaghan and Megan Fox, star of your fantasies, the couple brings the dramatic emotion necessary when showing such heavy subject matter. Don’t forget to check out Love the Way You Lie Pt. 2 off Rihanna’s new album, Loud.

Wavin’ FlagArtists for Haiti

Easily the most listenable charity song ever to be written, K’Naan’s Wavin’ Flag quickly became the greatest inspirational song of 2010. Re-recording the track to raise money for earthquake-ravaged Haiti, K’Naan called on the Canadian music community to help with the recording. A truly goose-bump inducing track that will forever be a gold star on Canadian music history.

Nothin’ on YouBruno Mars and B.o.B.

This song launched the career of both artists, who went on to release hugely successful debut albums this year. One of the sweetest songs of 2010, there are going to be a lot of weddings featuring this diddity for a first dance.

California GurlsKaty Perry and Snoop Dogg

Who knew so many words could be rhymed with bikini? Leave it to Snoop DE OH Double Gee to work his magic and make the hottest jam of the summer even hotter. But really, there aren’t many things hotter than a naked Katy Perry on a cloud of cotton candy. How about a naked Snoop Dogg? Nope, still not hotter.

Check It OutNicki Minaj and Will.i.Am.

Even Will.i.Am’s terrifying outfit at this years VMAs couldn’t take our focus off the self-proclaimed black Barbie, the one and only, Miss Nicki Minaj. Already the biggest selling female rapper, Nicki’s first verse on Check It Out is all you need to hear to know you have to check out her debut album, Pink Friday. Video Killed the Radio Star and Minaj killed most of the rap industry this year.

What’s My Name?Rihanna and Drake

This collaboration between the couple that almost happened is almost perfect enough for me to forgive Rihanna trying to make control top pantyhose the latest ‘trend.’ Almost.

BillionaireBruno Mars and Travie McCoy

Yes, the finer things in life are free. But as Travie McCoy so succinctly puts it, who wouldn’t want to be a billionaire “so freakin’ bad”?

Eeny MeenySean Kingston and Justin Bieber

From Stratford, Ontario to Kingston, Jamaica, these two singers may have grown up in different worlds, but their song Eeny Meeny gave us all a beat to dance to while trying to decide which guys to date. Cause, you know, we all have guys fighting for us? Um, I mean, fighting for us!
