Billy Corgan is a busy guy. From putting the finishing touches on the latest Smashing Pumpkins album Oceania to prepping for their United Kingdom tour in November, what do you with the time in between? You open your own wrestling company.
Billy Corgan is about to launch Resistance Pro, a professional wrestling company where he’ll serve as the creative director (which means he’ll be responsible for “creating storylines” and marketing the matches). The company is set to debut it’s first fight, dubbed “Black Friday”, November 25th in Chicago.
In an interview with NME, Corgan said, “I’ve been involved sort of behind the scenes with pro wrestling for about a decade and made a lot of friends in the business. It’s a very insular business and it’s a long story, but I essentially got involved with some brothers who had a wrestling promotion. We decided to form our own promotion and we’re going to try to bring back to the glory days.“
