Black Bananas, formerly RTX, teamed up with Kurt Vile to cover “Before They Make Me Run,” from The Rolling Stones’ 1978 album, Some Girls. They stay true to the original song but crank the guitar and drums up…way up. In an interview with The Stool Pigeon, Vile actually cites “Before They Make Me Run” as one of his favorite Stones songs. The song was written by Keith Richards in 1977 and was about his arrest in Toronto for heroin possession.
The debut album from Black Bananas is called Rad Times Xpress IV and will be out on January 31 via Drag City.
Listen to “Before They Make Me Run” over at Pitchfork.
