U2 frontman Bono has paired with Nike in the fight against AIDS.
The singer appeared with English soccer stars in London yesterday to promote the “Lace Up, Save Lives” campaign. Nike will sell shoes with red laces and donate the proceeds to AIDS charities.
Bono says a little goes a long way when it comes to fighting the disease. “Two pills a day is all it takes,” he said. “You’re at death’s door, then you’re back at work in 40 days. It’s mind-blowing, two pills a day.”
Nike plans to launch more RED products in the near future.
