Brandy and Monica turn back time in video for It All Belongs To Me

Bust out your giant Club Monaco sweaters and message me on ICQ, I’m feeling 13 again. Brandy and Monica have gone back to 1998 and rekindled their frienemy status for their new jam, a follow up to their huge collaboration on The Boy Is Mine. In the 2012 version, also referred to as It All Belongs To Me, the singers aren’t fighting over a guy this time, but instead fight a guy to get their belongings back after the relationship goes south.

Brandy and Monica still have the same no-BS attitude as their teenage selves, but the track isn’t as strong as their first single together. That being said, it’s difficult to compete with such a massive success and I’m just excited to hear their voices together again. Instead of side-by-side apartments, the women sit side-by-side and sing about paying for their boyfriend’s stuff. The video is very much Beyonce’s Irreplaceable meets Waiting To Exhale.
