Who made the most musical moolah between June 2009 and June 2010? Any artist that put out a tour last year! Oh, and merchandising and sponsorships didn’t hurt either! U2, hip hop royalty Beyonce and Jay-Z, and pop stars Britney, “first-time-one-the-list” Lady Gaga, and Madonna all made the top ten.

The number one spot, according to the Top Forbes 2010 Music Earners List, is U2, in large part to last year’s 360 Tour. They got the top spot despite having to delay some stops in 2010 due to Bono’s back injury, so kudos to them for still killing the competition!

The second spot is held by rockers AC/DC with a worldwide tour that pulled in $2.3M a night! A night!

The highest grossing female on the list is Beyonce in third. Her claim to fortune mainly came from L’Oreal and Nintendo deals (I’d pay money for that hair and voice!) plus her House of Dereon fashion line. Oh, and she had a tour last year too.

Fourth place went to Bruce Springsteen, and fifth place went to Britney Spears. Spears beat out Mr. Beyonce Knowles AKA Jay-Z, at #6, Lady Gaga at #7, and Madonna at #8. This was Gaga’s first time cracking the top ten…beating out Madonna of all people!

Gaga has now surpassed her in every imaginable way possible! Huge moolah came from her Monster Ball tour plus all her zillions of endorsement deals, and Madonna raked in some green with her Sticky and Sweet Tour, plus royalties from her hit Glee-themed episode.
