Spring Breakers stars Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine have been busy the past few months promoting their new film everywhere from Toronto for TIFF to Paris for a European premiere. The cast are now in Texas for SXSW along with director Harmony Korine, and were attending a panel about Spring Breakers when an audience member asked whether the girls were lip syncing in a scene from the film that showed them singing Britney Spears’ Hit Me Baby One More Time.

The panel’s moderator was more than ready for the question, quickly turning on the song’s backing track and encouraging the girls to sing along. Recording artist Selena Gomez showed off her impressive pipes and the video has already caught the attention of the one and only Britney Spears.

Spears tweeted a link to a YouTube video of the performance along with the message “Awww @selenagomez can duet with me anytime http://youtu.be/qMYLRYgUfbM ! PS- I heard @springbreakers is AAA-MAZING! Can’t wait to see it!”.

Like Spears, Gomez also got her start with Disney and is currently making the transition away from her lead role on Wizards of Waverly Place to more adult TV shows and films, especially with the release of the risque Spring Breakers.

Spring Breakers is set to hit theatres on March 29. No word yet on when Hit Me Baby One More Time 2.0 is set to drop.
