Yay! Some positive Britney Spears news!

The blogosphere is a’hoppin with news that Ms. Spears will appear on an upcoming episode of How I Met Your Mother.

PinkIsTheNewBlog states:

I was just informed that Britney showed up at the FOX Studios lot this morning with only her agent in tow to sit down with the cast of the show for the episode read-thru. I’m told she was “really funny”, “very professional” and that the character might become a recurring character on the show. Additionally, most of her scenes are with the Ted Mosby character played by Josh Radnor. This episode of How I Met Your Mother is the third of the new eps that have been written since the show came back from the Writer’s Strike hiatus and since the first new ep airs next week it may air three weeks after that (the week of April 7th).

I haven’t seen this show in ages. It never fully grabbed my attention, but it gets good reviews and ratings, so all the power to it. Hopefully for them this stunt casting comes into fruition because you know everyone and their dog will be tuning in to watch Brit do her thang.

I have no idea what role she’s playing on How I Met Your Mother, but come to think of it, there are some other shows for which I feel Ms. Spears would be better suited. Food for thought:

Heroes - Latest catchphrase: “Save her career, Save the World.”
American Idol - She joins the latest season and (amazingly) turns out to be the least controversial.
Lost - In the twist of all twists, turns out she’s “Jacob”! (What?!)
Nip/Tuck - Nah, too easy.
