But The Irony Of It All Is That She Loves Me All The Time

August 10th, 2006

You know, overplaying of “Crazy” aside, the Gnarls Barkley album is solid fun in my opinion. So it was with a slobbering maw of content that I went to see Cee-lo and Danger Mouse’s project ‘o funk when they played in Toronto last night.

Reasons Why The Show Was A High Octane Adventure:
-Cee-lo is an engaging frontman, even when he stripped down to an undershirt, which in ordinary circumstances, we wouldn’t need to see.
-Also, Cee-lo’s voice is crazy. Haha, “Crazy”. Sorry.
-Danger Mouse brings the FUNK. Silent, but deadly.
-They have FUN.
-Everyone dressed like staff from a diner. I was wondering which cosutmes they’d pull out and these were cute.
-They ended with “Smiley Faces”. I love “Smiley Faces”. It was truly a happy ending.

Then there was the guy beside me who, when Cee-lo lit up, kept saying, “Ohhhhh, MAN! He’s got a joint! He’s LIGHTING A JOINT! He’s gonna smoke a JOINT!” I understand you’re excited, but really? I think we get it, dude. Thanks.
