Canadian rapper Forrest Schab, 26, also known as DY, has been reported missing. He was last seen in Toronto in August with plans to go to Mexico.
Matt Attfield, DMD Promotions’ national publicist, said that he is unsure who the last person was to see DY but that he was seen at the video shoot for “That’s My Spot” on August 8th about a week before he was scheduled to go to Mexico. The last Tweet from his account was on September 8th when he said, “Happy birthday to my favourite voice on the radio @jjisjeni. All the best!”
Attfield was also unable to say if he was planning on travelling alone or with anyone else. Currently, the investigation is only being done in Toronto by the Toronto Police Department and Mexican authorities have not become involved.
DY is on CP Records along with Danny Fernandes and Belly. His first single “Passenger” featured Fernandes and he recently released a second video “That’s My Spot” featuring D Woods. DY toured across Canada with Fernandes and Akon in 2009 and has also toured with rappers Ghetto Concept and Too Short.
Attfield said that although DY’s label mates Belly and Danny Fernandes haven’t made an official statement, CP Records CEO Tony Sal speaks for all in them in his press release statement: “DY is such a great young talent. All of the artists and staff at CP Records have him and his family in our prayers.”
Also in the press release, DY’s family said, “We haven’t heard from Forrest since August. We are extremely worried about him. If anyone has information of his whereabouts, please help us by contacting the Toronto Police Department with any information you may have.”
Attfield says that fans can expect another statement from the family soon and they will advise what to do from here. For now, anyone with information can call the Toronto Police Department at 416-808-2222.
