It looks like The Hunger Games is about to make a huge cultural splash. With a highly-anticipated film coming out on March 23rd and stars Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson making their Hollywood rounds, the novel turned film is sure to dominate the year.
And, The Hunger Games is broadly stepping into the fashion world with the release of Capitol Couture. Supported on Tumblr, Capitol Couture is for “the Capitol fashionista seeking inspiration for your latest look” or the “District citizen tracking rumours about the Tributes and other celebs.”
Yes, this online magazine is written like we’re all living in the nation of Panem, the setting for the books and film. Capitol Couture has got some pretty things up its sleeve; there’s a profile on the pale-faced Effie Trinket (played by Elizabeth Banks), a story on Capitol shoes spottings and a teaser for a Mugler dress.
I’m pretty stoked about how chic this is, and the movie hasn’t even come out yet. Capitol Couture is running at the chicest level with outrageous styles at the center of it all. I mean, they’ve spotlighted Alexander McQueen! It cannot get any more outrageous than that.
Definitely looking forward to more.
