Caribou Vibration Ensemble album (Download/Stream)

Caribou has made his limited edition, tour-only live album available as a free download. The set was recorded at the Flaming Lips-curated ATP Festival in 2009, which was only the second show ever played by Caribou Vibration Ensemble, a 15-piece that included Four Tet’s Kieran Hebden and Sun Ra collaborator Marshall Allen. Thanks ATP.

As a present to ATP attendees, one of our curators Dan Snaith of Caribou has donated the live album (recorded at one of the only other Caribou Vibration Ensemble shows to date back in 2009) as a free download for you all to grab in anticipation of the Nightmare event.

As recently announced, Caribou’s headline set at the festival will be as the Caribou Vibration Ensemble featuring – special guest Marshall Allen (Sun Ra Arkestra), Kieran Hebden (Four Tet) on synthesizers and electronics, James Holden on modular synthesizers, a 4 piece horn section and two drummers – an 11 piece band total. This is only the second time Caribou Vibration Ensemble have performed – the first show was at ATP NYC in 2009. The band features the four piece horn section that featured on Caribou’s Swim LP and James Holden’s modular synth is going to be connected to / played by Ahmed Gallab’s (Sinkane/Yeasayer) drum kit.
