Carly Rae Jepsen joins Ke$ha and Lady Gaga at #1

Carly Rae Jepsen has joined the ranks of Ke$ha and Lady Gaga by seeing her debut single Call Me Maybe hit the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. This week the Mission, BC native knocked Gotye and Kimbra’s massive collaboration Somebody That I Used To Know from the top spot where its sat for the last eight weeks.

Starting in January 2010, Ke$ha’s song of partying debauchery Tik Tok spent nine weeks at the number one spot. Lady Gaga’s break out single Just Dance spent three weeks at number on in January 2009. If these two singers are any indication of Carly Rae’s future success, it looks like clear sailing for Jepsen. Together, Ke$ha and Lady Gaga have amassed a collection of 17 number one hits.
