Wonder why Carly Rae Jepsen’s new album is called Kiss? Well she finally reveals the origins of her album title in a new interview.

“You know, I was at an interview once, and someone just came out and asked me ‘What’s your album going to be called?’ and I was like, ‘Kiss,’ and that was how I decided,” Jepsen says. “It really is an album about love, flirtation and the beginnings of things and it felt like it really suited it, and as well, there’s a track called This Kiss on the album, which I think is probably my favorite song so that’s probably why.”

Jepsen goes on to discuss her first kiss, saying, “I waited for my first kiss. I waited until I was 17, and he was a jazz singer named Brenden Call,” Jepsen said. “Nice guy, sweet guy. We still keep in touch on Facebook.” Aw, how cute!

And when asked who she would like to share a smooch with, obviously she picked the hottest Canadian celebrity out there (and no, it’s not Justin Bieber) — “Ryan Gosling!” she exclaimed. Good choice!

Kiss will be out on September 18.
