Carly Rae Jepsen, who took home two awards during this weekend’s 2012 MTV EMA, admits she was nervous to let the audience carry her during her theatrical performance at the star-studded event in Frankfurt, Germany.
Before the show the singer exclusively told Bang Showbiz “I’m very excited, as ready as I can be considering there are some new things happening in my part of the show. I body surf, it will be my first time body surfing, I’m a little bit terrified!”
But one thing Carly wasn’t worried about was how fans would react to her performance. Earlier this week the 26-year-old Canadian singer revealed she knew her debut single Call Me Maybe would be a hit after seeing the reaction from her family the first time she played it to them. She said “The song was really enjoyable to record, so that was always a bit of a thrill, but I didn’t know that it was that extra special song until I played it for my family. My aunt, who is a little bit of a tomboy, a hockey player, ended up jumping on the couch and dancing, and it was at that moment I thought, ‘Hmm, there may be something to this one.’”
