Jesse: First Day

“Today was my first official day as a MuchMusic VJ”.

Damn, was that good to say. But what does that mean? What does a day in the life of a Much Music VJ look like? I am not so sure myself – but I’ll take you along for the ride.

The First Day
Of course, at any new job – the day started off with the usual paperwork; got my badge, went on a tour, met the staff at Much, CTV, MTV & learned about the different departments that are responsible for the magic behind the television. There are so many aspects involved & great people behind the scenes. Not to mention, I also got my desk today, which coincidentally turns out to be none other than Leah Miller’s previous one.

Jesse: The Night Before

So here it is - the night before I officially start as a MuchMusic VJ. I have to be in to the office for 9:30, so I should probably be sleeping, but my sleeping schedule is way off so I don’t think that’s going to happen.

I bought new runners today and went for a run in hopes I would be exhausted and pass out, but there’s just so much stuff to do before tomorrow. I’m compiling a list of all the shows over the next couple months I’m going to go to, and all the interviews I hope to do, and a bunch of ideas for shows I need to get down before it runs through my mind.

Stereos Aaron: Album Countdown!

Hey Canada! Hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving weekend, we sure did! Some serious early morning football took place followed by some even more serious turkey (or in my case, Tofurkey) consumption. I am happy to report that all of the injuries occured on the playing field, and not in the food fight…… sorry mom!! There has been a lot to be thankful for this year for us in Stereos and it’s all because of your support!! We love our fans so much!!!

So in other news….THE ALBUM DROPS IN ONE WEEK!!! Is anyone else as excited as I am? I have my copy already, it’s all that I have been listening to! Apologies to Taylor Swift and Biggie, I will return to listening to you soon….. maybe. We are so stoked about the release that yesterday we released “BYE BYE BABY” on iTunes just because we want you to hear it as soon as possible. It’s a personal favourite of mine and if you’ve seen us live I’m sure it’s one of yours too!

Stereos: Miles Is Hyped About Touring

Hello to everyone!!!!!!! As you guys know the album is set to be released on October 20th!! We actually just put the finishing touches on it and finalized it about a week ago. We would like to give a huge shout out to our producer Gavin Brown - he basically lived in the studio for the last week doing all the final tweaks to make it the best album possible. I hope he’s catching up on his sleep!

As for us we had a nice little week off, hitting the gym real hard, getting into the NFL season and Robb and I snuck in a little time to work on some Eurobeats… maybe Underground Hiphoperations will sign us ;D….

Late Night with Darrin Rose

Hey Gang! Darrin Rose here, from VideoOnTrial and Love Court. This Friday, I’m hosting a live comedy/variety show called Late Night with Darrin Rose. I’ll have a bunch of performers on, then interview them after their sets. Here’s the best part – my special guest is Debra DiGiovanni! If you’ve never seen her stand-up act, you should – she’s hilarious. Also, she promised to brush my beard for me (double win!).

I’ll also have magician/mentalist Mysterion the Mind Reader, who is really going to freak you out. He’s going to lie me down on a bed of nails and stand on my chest! He tells me there’s a “trick” to it, but I’m worried, because I fear I’m easily punctured.

If I survive that, we’ll have music from the Bring Back Swayzes, who are great. Then we’ll celebrate the show with drinks down the street (come to the show to find out where!), and hopefully Mysterion will show me how to make a hangover disappear.

X’09 Previewing Upcoming Games

Xbox Canada holds an annual event where game publishers display their latest and upcoming game titles. Yesterday Mark and I were able to preview some of the anticipated game titles coming to consoles this fall season. Some of the titles that were there have recently been released including Beatles Rock Band, NHL 10 & Halo ODST.

Some of the new titles that we got to preview were DJ Hero, Tony Hawk’s Ride, Left 4 Dead 2, Forza Motorsport 3 and the highly anticipated GTA IV downloadable episode The Ballad of Gay Tony. These titles are being released soon and at perfect time too with the holiday season coming upon us.
