Finger Eleven during MMVA rehearsals

So I just got back from rehearsing for tomorrow’s big show. I’m absolutely sweaty as a pig, hope that looks good on camera.

The whole setup is going to be amazing! The lights, the helicopters, the fireworks. It is truly an honour to be the first band ever to play up there! The last time we were up there we were holding a Christmas tree with Steve Anthony. We’ve come a long way. Can’t wait for the real deal!

Sooo…a couple of artists just finished rehearsing, among them, The Used & Hilary Duff (pictured above). Hilary had a full entourage of dancers who whizzed through a cool choreography. And Ms. Duff even pulled a few shimmies of her own!

I have to say, I am truly terrified after seeing The Used perform! The growling…the string section…the screaming. I am frightened. But then again, I’m a wimp who’s also scared of thunder, horses and hot dogs.

OMG they are rehearsing again! Mommy.

it’s quinn from the used, first of all, i don’t blog EVER! so consider this something different, also i will never use a period to end my thoughts i will conjoin them with commas, i hope this isn’t distracting. haha i just used a period, you thought you had me all figured out didn’t you? okay so here we are, we just flew in from our various homesteads in the states like japan, mexico city and arizona to be here and perform for all our fans on muchmusic.

we are very excited to be nominated for international vidjo of the year, yes its spelled vidjo. we are having an amazing time touring the world and penis. no but for reals in fact we are very blessed to be a part of this year’s awards and experience so many crazy things as friends and write so many runon sentences. blogging is something that i feel. i feel is something i don’t do a lot so i’m sorry if this blog stinks, cuz so does your finger.

okay. gotta get going now but sincerely thank you for all your support in everything, and have fun scarfing down on snacks while watching muchmusic cuz muchmusic really does RULE THE WORLD!

Maroon 5 rehearsing for the 2007 MMVAs

So by now we are all aware that MMVA rehearsals are underway. Today I’ve been roaming the halls, following Kat around, getting blogs from presenters and performers, and checking in on the various performance rehearsals. It’s all been fun and dandy and all that jazz, purely business and professional.

Then suddenly I come around the corner, in a random hallway and who do I see, leaning against the wall, texting on his phone, but none other than the wonderfully delicious Adam Levine of Maroon 5. I swooned, my knees buckled, and I had a quick intake of breath. I now know how Angela Chase felt when she saw Jordan Catalano leaning up against the lockers in her high school of My So-Called Life. Oh happy day!

UPDATE: Maroon 5 finished their sound check and now Adam’s been sitting at drummer Matt Flynn’s kit for 10 minutes just hammering away. Who knew he could drum? Is there anything this man can’t do?!

What’s up everybody!

It’s the first time I’ll be coming out to the MMVAs, and to say the least, I’m excited!

I’ve been working really hard lately and this feels like hard work paying off! The past few weeks have been crazy!! I just shot three videos: one for Don’t Be Shy f. Nina Sky - I was almost eaten by a tiger, one of my costars on set. You can check out the footage here.

Then another video for my song History of Violence, which was banned in the U.S. by MVN for its anti-war lyrics and graphic images, and I also shot a video with my homie Kurupt for our song I’m The Man. Needless to say, I’m going to have to start buying sleep!!

My album The Revolution just came out and debuted #1 on the hip hop charts! I gotta thank all my fans for joining The Revolution!

Anyway, I can’t wait to give y’all a performance Canada has never seen from a hip hop artist at the MMVAs tomorrow! I’m bringing my homies Ginwuine and Ray Emery (Stanley Cup finalist) with me to party. Tune in early and watch me on the red carpet…you know I’m crazy, so something crazy is bound to happen!

Alexionfire rehearsing at the 2007 MMVAs

Greetings from our nation’s music station! George and Rat Beard of Alexisonfire here.

This morning we hopped on a plane in St. Louis and landed back in Toronto. The U.S. tour has been going well. The following fun things happened in the first four days of the tour: Steele purchased a rocket at a hobby shop and we are planning on launching it at god. We also went to an indoor water park in Columbus, Ohio where we terrorized children with water guns!

I rode my BMX around Central Park in New York and watched the New York firefighters play softball against the Boston Firefighters. George smashed a window in Pittsburgh playing catch with Steele. Steele went up the arch in St. Louis. All in all an eventful start to our two week run of the United States!

So now we are back on Canadian soil and ready to partake in our fifth MMVAs! It will be two days of free shwag and booze, fake celebs and schmooze. We are excited to see our friends Billy Talent and The Used. I’m sure we will get up to no good with those boys.

Well suckas, I’ve spent the last two weeks sharing with you our picks for the top MMVA moments - we’ve seen SUM 41 setting off firecrackers onstage, FeFe Dobson dropping the f-bomb live, Avril’s crack-itude and lots more - but there could only be one number one. Come on. So obvious. Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock were here in 2002 and staggered up on stage to present an award. They were a little tipsy, you see, or so it seemed - Kid with his beer, Pam with her “look at ma man” googly eyes. If you don’t know what happened, well, watch. It’s sorta awkward, kinda sweaty, a little obnoxious and well, pretty hott.

After a week of counting down the top Show Me Yours: MMVA Superstar entries, we’ve finally come to our number one…the weiner…the big kahuna who will help present something onstage this Sunday! Congratulations to Nadine from Squamish, BC, whose totally creative video sealed the deal! Ready to get glam, Nadine?!
