MMVA09: Backstage Special

Ever wonder how we pull off something as massive as the MuchMusic Video Awards? Well, airing tonight at 10 p.m. ET on Much is the MuchNews MMVA Behind the Scenes Special, where we give viewers an exclusive look at what goes into making the biggest show in Canada.

See exclusive backstage interviews with co-hosts the Jonas Brothers, Lady Gaga, Billy Talent, Kim Kardashian, Alexisonfire and yes, we even got Twilight hunk Taylor Lautner. We also follow MMVA winners the Midway State on the biggest night of their life, give two lucky Jo-Bros fans a special MMVA makeover, and visit with the VJs as they battle the rain for rehearsal time.

Plus, there is the fan frenzy, from the overwhelming response to the wristband line-up to the pandemonium that ensued when the brotherly co-hosts took the stage and Lady Gaga’s bra ignited.

Some Evanescence News + MMVA Superbands!!!

3/4 of the Fallen, formerly known as Evanescence

Last night a good friend of mine told me that the half of Evanescence that Amy Lee kicked out of the group had recruited Idol contestant Carly Smithson formed their own band, The Fallen. “Pshaw!” I said. Like a total blockhead, I didn’t believe him until I saw this article today.

Anyway, this set off a disastrous train of thought. If this could happen to Evanescence (and Guns and Roses, Soundgarden, Blink-182, Rage Against the Machine, etc), IT COULD HAPPEN TO ANYONE.

Even (and maybe especially) the superstars playing at the MMVAs this weekend.

Intrigued? I promise it won’t end up like Velvet Revolver!

Nico: Did you watch So You Think You Can Dance?! He won for a reason! The guy is beyond talented! French accent a plus too. Definitely my boyfriend. We dance such romantic pas de deuxs together. Fun fact! I bumped into Nico in December at a Stars concert!

Subterfuge: Alternate Reality Indie Nominations for the MMVAs

I’ve got this friend, we’ll call him Tim, who sometimes talks about what he’d do if he took over the world. Mostly, I say “Tim, you sound like a crazy fascist!”. But on occasion, I wonder what I’d do if I ruled the world. After “House Full of Kittens”, I think the first thing I’d do would be to suggest my OWN nominations (and categories) for this year’s MMVAs. ‘Cause you know, there’s a lot of good stuff that didn’t make it up there.
