Best of Much.com with Cody Simpson!

Much.com has had a big year with even bigger stars. From Joe Jonas singing into our Shazaam App, to Dustin Milligan eating all our Jelly Bellies, to bonding with The Arkells over our mutual love for all things Taylor Swift, and talking shower scenes with Pretty Little Liar’s Tyler Blackburn, we’ve gotten to chat with the year’s biggest celebs.

With 2011 coming to an end we decided to look back at some of our favourite moments from the year. Today in honour of his return to MuchMusic, we’re reliving our dreamy interview with Cody Simpson, where we talked music, gave him a Canadian test and tried not to get lost in those blue eyes.

Colette Carr goes primo with Nick Cannon

Colette Carr is part of a new breed of female rappers re-inventing what used to define ‘hip hop’. Outgoing, brass and sometimes a bit outrageous, Colette jumped on stage to freestyle during a Game concert and was soon signed by none other than Nick Cannon. Since then she’s become part of the Cherrytree Records family, working with fellow label mate Frankmusik and touring with LMFAO and Far East Movement.

We sat down to talk to Colette about her sound, packing for tour and just what her boss Nick Cannon’s wife Mariah Carey is really like.

Not only is he an uber-talented producer, working with everyone from Joe Jonas to Natalia Kills to Erasure, but Frankmusik’s own sophomore album Do It In The Am is also climbing the charts, thanks to his infectious single with Far East Movement.

Getting to interview an artist as talented and introspective about the music industry as Frankmusik is a thrill. Staring at the handsome Brit for 10 minutes definitely doesn’t hurt either. Hot Chelle Rae talk about their new album and you can listen to it now!

It’s been a big year for Hot Chelle Rae. They just finished touring with The Script, their debut album is dropping in a week, they landed an opening gig for Taylor Swift in Spring 2012, and this past weekend they won New Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards. Exclusive! It’s love at first poster for Much.com and The Muppets Jason Segel

We should all be so lucky to love something as much as Jason Segel loves The Muppets. The actor pulled double duty on Disney’s upcoming Muppet film, co-writing the script with Nick Stoller and starring in the film alongside Amy Adams, Chris Cooper, and of course, Kermy and Miss Piggy.

From working with Brett McKenzie from Flight of the Concords, to ‘forcing’ Adams to join the film, to getting a new brother named Walter, we got the scoop from Segel on the biggest film of 2011.
