ANTM Finale Recap

And the winner is… BLOODY EYEBALL!
Over the course of this season’s America’s Next Top Model, we have witnessed some top model firsts! From having three permanent judges to guaranteed spots for models in the next round to narrowing down the finalists from four to two! The biggest first was of course PETITE MODELS! Girls under the 5’7” mark were allowed to try out for the first ever petite Top Model cycle. Who knew the much shorter girls were the weirder girls as we got Laura, the farm girl with dyslexia from Stanford, Kentucky standing at 5’6” and Nicole, the social outcast who ate lunch in the washroom stalls at school from Louisville, Colorado standing at 5’7” as the top two finalists of this season.

disBAND: Mean Tangerine’s Verdict

Well, we got told to disBand. It’s embarrassing as shit, but only cos watching the playback my fly was open the whole goddam time. Joking.. I’m more presentable then that obv. But seriously it sucked, I felt like we killed the song, had the crowd into it, and performed like we always do. The judges obviously know what they’re talking about, but that doesn’t change the fact that we feel we have what it takes. Our moms tell us that all the time, and there’s no way they’re calling my mom a liar. Make sure you fans vote for us to get us back on, at the Much website!!! This is only the beginning!!

disBAND: The Fate of Mean Tangerine!

[Tune in for the premier of disBAND season 2 tonight at 6pm ET!! Our first band is the juicy Mean Tangerine...]
So today’s the day we either get told we have what it takes, and become so famous and respected that I never have to listen to anyone ever again - even friendly people. OR we get told to disBand, and we burn down the MuchMusic buiding. Joking, but seriously..
We’re obviously pretty nervous, and we’re all showing it in different ways. Jesse can’t stop eating, Mike has been crying in the fetal position for a couple hours, Brent has been looking in the mirror combing his hair, singing the song from the Eight Mile soundtrack for wayyyyy too long, and I’ve just been doing what I usually do, which is work out, and make out with really hot girls. We’re comfortable with the song we have to perform, and I’m confident. I won’t be shook if we get told to disBand just cos it’ll work out regardless thanks to our fans, and our everlasting hetero love.

Gossip Girl Goes Gaga

I’m fairly certain that last Monday I was not the only one in a threesome induced coma. Duff and Szohr getting it on in Gossip Girl was so shocking that the prospect of the aftermath unfolding the following week made me believe that it had the potential to become the most epic episode in GG history. I didn’t even realize at the time how true that statement could be. Yes my friends, on this week’s episode The Last Days of The Disco Stick, Lady Gaga is set to perform her new single “Bad Romance”.
Lady Gaga, whose 17-year-old sister convinced her to do it, will be the third musical cameo of the season. A month ago, Sonic Youth performed at Rufus and Lily’s wedding and The Plasticines performed at last week’s cotillion ball.
After hearing this amazing news on gossipgirlinsder.com (my homepage, naturally) I began obsessively googling all the spoilers. While I didn’t watch the sneak peaks as I refuse to ruin the episode, here are the clues I’ve gathered about what to expect:

Santa’s obnoxious little helper, we find you guilty of using the Jonas Brothers as your model for manhood… for staring at the sushi girl instead of your date’s California rolls, and lastly for 18 counts of grand douchebaggery. So, who gets the money? Sally Kardashian or Jonas Bother? The person being rewarded with $500 is…no one!!! We find you both guilty of crimes against love… thank you, your honour.

Hello world! This is Dizz, 1/3 of Toronto based Pop/R&B group REVERSE speaking (typing) to you live from rehearsal. We don’t stop haha =P
So life is pretty crazy right now. From the moment we found out that REVERSE was selected to be one of the 13 bands for season 2 of disBAND, we’ve been foaming at the mouth due to the high level of excitement. We are pretty much on ‘uber-rampage’ mode right now, trying to perfect our craft for what truly is an opportunity of a lifetime. We’ve been literally fighting for this kind of chance to share our music with the world FOREVER now. We won’t let it slip through our fingers! Now enough with the rampaging talk lol. Let me tell you just how we found out about this whole disBAND hoopla.

The Hills - Recap (Ep 17)

Lights, camera, action. Add tons of drama, cat fights and hair extensions and you’ve got MTV’s hit reality show, The Hills.
With the arrival of Miss Kristin Cavallari, The Hills has been shaken up a bit. But for the viewers, it hasn’t been a good turn out. Ratings for this season have dropped 30% since the departure of Lauren Conrad, and they’re strugging to bring the next season to television. And I’m here to get your opinion with my weekly recap of the show!
Tuesday night’s episode of The Hills started off with Kristin and Brody going to dinner and discussing Brody’s current romantic situation with his on-again off-again girlfriend, Playboy Playmate, Jayde Nicole. Brody jokingly told Kristin she was being pretty flirtatious, and continued to laugh it off. In my own personal opinion, that was Brody’s way of playing off the situation, when we all know that he wants to get with Kristin, he just doesn’t want to be too up front about it for fear of hurting his bad-boy image.

The City - Recap (Ep 20)

At the beginning of the episode, Kelly calls a staff meeting, which begins with Kelly scolding Roxy, implying that if she keeps her attitude up, she will be fired. Also throwing in some mentions of the recession, Kelly is trying to think positive for the world, but all Roxy did was whisper to ask someone for a pen. Come on, Kel! Lighten up!
Continuing in the meeting, Kelly begins to discuss a business trip to Miami for Fashion Week to work on a swimsuit show. Kelly suggests bringing Whitney along for the ride, in which Roxy decides to start making little faces at Kelly, hoping to get chosen to go as well. In response to that, Kelly says, “And then we could bring her partner in crime that she’s training,” in which case, Roxy puts a big smile on her face, knowing that yet again, she got what she wants.

disBAND: These Kids Wear Crowns

Being on the far side of the world (since we are from Vancouver-ish BC, to us, that’s Toronto) was a great experience for the band, individually and as a whole. We had too much fun to repeat any of it in character form (vowels and/or consonants). All in all, we wanna go back! And we wanna go back soon! Is what we were all thinking…
…Then, whilst driving in our van, Pamela Vanderson (who by the way is quite roomy and comfortable, contrary to popular belief), we got word that we have been selected to be one of the 13 bands on season 2’s season of disBAND! BOOM! Van explodes with eruptions of great excitement and vibrant smiles, most of which caused parallel concerned drivers to yield to a vehicle full of smiling, ecstatic and possibly mildly insane escaped crazy people. But we aren’t crazy, nor were we at the time, we just … had a moment. A moment of pure insanity.

disBAND: The Stiff Wires

Check out The Stiff Wires on season 2 of disBAND…
Hello! We’re The Stiff Wires out of the Speed City, London, Ontario. We are what some have called a punk band, which probably won’t happen again and not your stereotypical MuchMusic band. Although we have developed somewhat of a Power Pop feel over time we’re still not really what would be considered the Much look and feel. Hopefully us being on disBAND can somehow change what that definition is, in any minor way.
Our road to disBAND was not one we took lightly and it was more of a push by our manager Joe. At first most of the band was very resistant about doing something on such a mainstream level, knowing full well what the backlash from some too punk for you’s would be.
