disBAND: Street Pharmacy

Watch out for Street Pharmacy on season 2 of of disBAND!
For the last 3 years, my three best friends and I have slugged it out at small clubs, bars, basements, lift bridges, house parties and various other places in and around Southern Ontario in pursuit of hewing our craft; professional musicianship. We have written and recorded 3 full-length albums, travelled to Cuba to record one of them and self-produced two professional music videos. We did all of this while the four of us successfully obtained university degrees while living in four different cities all over Ontario. Sometimes, we would have to learn new songs in the parking lot of the clubs before we played our set due to our scholastic obligations and geographical separation but somehow, we always had the time of our lives. To say our plate has been full for the last 3 years is an understatement.

Watch out for Syla on this season of disBAND!
The moment I found out I made it on disBAND, I was absolutely shocked! I was really nervous, especially when I had to go up against Beth Moore for a second round of my audition. I didn’t know what the judges had critiqued her on her audition, therefore I had no idea what to expect. So I kind of just went with my gut instinct and the judges put me through! WHOA HOO! It was definfitely a moment of relief and excitement! From that moment on, I was ready to start preparing myself to prove to Greig Nori that I have what it takes to be on DisBAND! BOOYAA! =D

disBAND: Maddy Rodriguez

Check out Maddy on this season of disBAND!
My name is Maddy Rodriguez. I’m a 15-year-old singer/songwriter and I want to be an Acoustic country/pop recording artist. I just found out that I’m going to be on this season of Much Music’s disBAND.
I thought I’d share with you how it all happened. Over the summer I worked really hard writing everyday and performing everywhere I could. After playing many open mics and coffee shop gigs, I realized that my songs needed something more. A little umph, you know? I knew that having a band behind me would really make my songs come alive. So, my Dad and I put out ads and then auditioned different musicians in order to find me a band!

DINI: Yes, of course we have your honor. Ryan Shortscrest, we find you guilty of having the right bod, in the wrong clothes.
RYAN: Ohhh.
DINI: And you, Tania. We find you guilty of having questionable bangs. However, we find your body quite bangable.
DINI: That means you, Spray Tania, will recieve $500 to keep up that artificial glow. And that means we find you, Ryan No-Pants, guilty of crimes against love. You certainly did not wear the pants in this relationship. That will be all your honor.

disBAND: Em

Check out Em on this season of disBAND!
Stoked is an understatement. When I got a phone call from Greig Nori asking me if I wanted to come to Toronto to be on disBAND Season 2, I freaked. I’ve been working my butt off for the last 4 years releasing and promoting my music independently. It’s been a crazy learning experience so far, and I’ve accomplished more than I thought I would.
Still, I need to take things to the next level. I can’t wait to perform in front of people with real pull. I’ve grown up watching MUCH, and I’m stoked to even set foot in the building for the first time… let alone play! Am I nervous about what MUCH is going to put me through in Toronto? Absolutely. But I’ve learned that if something scares the crap out of you, it’s always worth doing. Dear disBAND: Its go time.

We are Mean Tangerine and we’re gonna be on disBand!
When we found out we were all excited, cos like being famous for being in a band was always our first choice. Close second being body building, which was the obvious choice for all of us, except Jesse who was gonna be a food tester (but professionally for once).
We’re four attractive straight males, except Mike who is a dinosaur. We all live in the same house in Toronto and go to college near by. We would absolutely love to drop out, so if Much can hook that up, it would be off the heezy.

My Date With: Hedley

This experience that we had is going to be very hard to put into words because this date was probably the most unreal and incredible thing we have ever done in our lives.
It all started with MuchMusic coming to our house. We had all our friends and family here awaiting the moment of truth. Finally they handed us the envelope - originally it said no, and then we saw the limo pull around the corner and we knew that we were actually winning a date with Hedley!

DAVID: is she talking to me?
Dini: silence! Do not sass me in this court young man, I will not stand for it.
DAVID: I just thought…
Dini: shut it! Take a visit to shutty town and stay there! Thank you. Ps Donatella versnatchy, I would like to know, who taught you to dance, heidi Montag? I don’t need an answer. Its your turn, gerkin tinybulch. We find you guilty of not getting nicci drunk enough to like you. And for doing a very adult dance in children’s underwear. The jury fully decided to award you, bootleg tim deegan the $500, but then you sassed me. So guess what, if you want the money you’re going to have to get naked for it. That includes taking off the pickle panties. Now, what will it be?
DAVID: f&%$ it, I don’t give a shit. Lets go.Is anyone going to throw down a beat?
Dini: we don’t throw down beats in this court room. Disrobe immediately.
DAVID: are you sure? Ok. Like this?

My Date With… Fall Out Boy

Monica was our lucky winner to spend a day in Toronto with Fall Out Boy! Watch le date go down tonight at 6:30pm ET, and for now read what she has to say about the experience!
May 5th, 2009. That was the day I got to meet Fall Out Boy. It was also the day I got to experience something that is just so surreal to most people - meeting your idols. From shopping to going up the CN Tower to the concert, it was an amazing experience that I’ll never forget. But it took a while to get there.

Love Court Episode 6: Love Lockup Verdict

Dan, we find you guilty of overusing the phrase ‘that’s what she said’, for avoiding a tan at all costs and devouring Hana’s face with only her partial consent. Hana, we find you guilty of making inappropriate jokes, having undateable hair, and above all, not meeting your challenge! This was not a unanimous decision by any stretch. The Love Court jury is hung!
We have decided to award you both $500 so you can get a hotel room, go and make out, and we don’t have to see it ever again! Thank you your honour.
