So momma head witch, who was supposed to be the secret weapon to kill Klaus, decides to forgive her son for killing her, and wants her family to be together again in peace? C’mooooon. Something’s up.

Damn straight there is. We get thrown into a whole new set of issues this episode including Esther secretly planning to kill her own family, Klaus trying to show his sensitive side to Caroline, and Stefan and Damon getting more fed up with the Elena love triangle.

So Elana and Matt are strolling through the halls of the hospital, and they still don’t know who this mysterious serial killer is…

They then get into their own cars and drive off. However, when Elena backs her car up, she bumps into something, goes outside to see what she hit, and who’s there to pin her against the car…none other than an angry Rebekah, who’s un-daggered, and furious with Elena for stabbing her in the first place. Luckily, Elijah shows up at the right moment to stop his sister from biting Elena. He reminds her that their mother forbids it. Family drama at its best.

Then we go to Elena discussing the previous events with Damon and Stefan at home. Suddenly, there’s a knock at the door, but wait, nobody’s there except a fancy invitation to a huge party the Original Family’s throwing in honor of well…becoming a family again. Geez, as if the whole world needs to know the accomplishment. But Esther, the head mother and original witch writes Elena on the back of the invitation that she wants a one-on-one chat.

Meanwhile, Klaus is told by mom again that she forgives him for killing her, and that she wants to see him at the grand ball with a date. Cue the creepy Klaus look. What’s he thinking?

And we also have an awkward “I-thought-I’m-taking-Elena-to-the-ball” moment between Stefan and Damon. But Damon ends up winning.

Tyler calls Caroline to tell her that he’s off to “fix” himself and get his self-control back. This makes her happy. But she also gets an invite to the big party…from Klaus. Woaaah. The dude has MOVES. Plus, Rebekah asks Matt to the party as her date to cause some commotion.

So here we go, some swanky cars pulling up to the Original Family’s mansion. And they have Christmas lights up on the trees! Not sure if that makes sense…

Let’s cut to Elena showing up, and walking in with two Salvatore brothers, who clearly don’t like the fact that either of them are there.

Caroline’s a bit confused too as to why Klaus invited her, but she shows up anyways. Seems like a good move, right? Go to the ball with the dude who’s controlling your boyfriend with compulsion.

Everyone’s then invited to do a “century-old waltz,” which means Elena dancing with both Damon…

…and Stefan.

And we also have a happy Klaus waltzing with a -still confused- Caroline.

Elena brings Stefan outside for a secret. She tells him that she needs to sit down with Esther, but she needs to go there alone, and Damon is over protecting her. She needs Stefan’s help to get him out of the way.

Meanwhile, Rebekah is up to no good, planning to go against her mother’s wishes of peace. She conspires with her brother Kol to kill Matt, which will cause Elena emotional pain. Damn, this girl holds a grudge.

Now we have Elena who just texted Damon to meet her privately in a room. She’s standing near the window with an innocent gaze. But…

…Stefan sneaks up and knocks out Damon unconscious, in order to keep him out of the way. Oh, boy. This just got real.

Meanwhile, Klaus finds Caroline outside with a horse and decides to flirt with her. Something like “Oh, so uhh, you like horses! No way…me too.”

But Caroline just tells him off, and psychoanalyzes him, saying that he wants to control hybrids because nobody loves him. That’s quality Dr. Phil stuff.

Meanwhile, Elena is about to go see Esther, but Elijah meets with her before hand. He says that he’s concerned there’s a hidden agenda going on and wants Elena to promise that she’ll tell him everything his mother tells her in the meeting. She agrees.

 Elena finally meets Esther, and comes alone, as requested.

“You must have a million questions” says Esther. Uhh yup, here’s a few we can start off with; why didn’t you kill Klaus, why is Klaus still the main villain in the season story line, and when is Klaus going to die? Oh, wait, hold up. Elena’s told not to worry, because Esther actually has a secret plan to kill the immortal Klaus…and her own family too!?

Basically, she understands that when she turned her family into vampires, it upset the balance of nature. So she’s going to cast a giant spell to link all of her children’s lives together as one, so that if one dies, they all die. All she needs is a drop of Elena’s blood to put in the champagne. When her children drink it during the toast, they’ll be linked. Fair enough.

We then cut to an angry Damon, who wakes up and tries to wrestle briefly with Stefan, for keeping him out of the plan. Stefan says he’s a liability.

At the same time, Rebekah leads Matt outside for some fresh air. At first she plans on killing him outside, but then she sees that he sort of cares about her, so she has a change of heart. They go back inside.

Inside, Elena lies to Elijah, and tells him that all his mother said to her was that she was sorry for the problems Klaus caused, and that she wants peace now.

Esther then holds her glass up for the toast, and everyone follows…

…including Klaus. Tough luck for you buddy.

Now we have Damon being over controlling again, saying it’s time to go home. Elena says that he cares too much, and doesn’t feel the same way about him. Uh-oh. Here we go with the old school “forget everybody” Damon.

We then have Matt who meets Kol outside on the balcony. No secret here, Kol wants to try and kill him.

Woah…but just as Matt’s getting his hand crushed, Damon jumps in and tackles Kol off the balcony, and temporarily knocks him unconscious.

He sort of realizes that it was a stupid thing to do. That’s the “Okay fine, so it was stupid, so what?” face.

We then cut to Esther who’s finalizing the spell with some of Fin’s blood.

And now we’re back at home with Elena and Stefan. Elena questions him again if he has any feelings for her or not.

But Stefan pulls a “I can never forgive myself for biting you, so that’s why I don’t…feel.”

We’re now at the bar, where Matt chills out with a broken hand.

Rebekah shows up to apologize, but Matt turns her down, and tells her that he doesn’t want to be anywhere near her. Ouch.

But no worries, because Damon shows up with some alcohol, and is like “Yo, let’s do some shots, forget the human..”

…”you need a vampire, like umm…me.”

Cut to some good ole’ sexual intercourse between vampires. Damon. What a player.

Hopefully we ge to see this giant spell in action next week, but not before an apparent Elena hostage situation with Elijah and his siblings.

Watches have and will likely always be staples in fashion – just take one look at the Michael Kors watch craze. Watches are everywhere. But, we surprisingly haven’t seen anything like these unique colourblock watches.

Toronto-based jewelry line Big Tinsel have created these bracelets from fancy vintage watches. Called the Happy Face bracelets, Big Tinsel really thought outside of the box. They’ve taken out the clock face mechanism and replaced it with bright solid colours like salmon, pink, powder blue and yellow. This is like a whole new level of DIY – you’ve got the indie appeal of the vintage watch, and the modern trend of colourblocking.

Interestingly, these bracelets have only taken the body of the watches – these babies don’t actually tell the time. There’s no face for the clock hands. Either way, they’re still majorly chic and a great conversation piece for anybody that notices.

This man doesn’t know when to give up!

Even though his first runway show was universally panned by the fashion industry, Kanye West is flexing is sartorial sensibilities once again. On March 6th, Yeezy will be showing his fall/winter 2012 collection, to the Parisian fashion elite. Coming back from bad reviews… that’s a terrifying ordeal!

But personally, I actually liked Kanye’s foray into fashion – the spring/summer collection was interesting, especially the zip-up salmon statement dress. Maybe he shouldn’t give up his fashion dreams, I’m sure there’s genius bubbling under that ego. Wishing him all the best!

What in the heavens! The gorgeous Kate Moss has stunned us again, with this W magazine photo shoot.

Photographed by Steven Klein, this supermodel has two major themes going on for the March 2012 dual covers. We’ve got an angelic, delicate Kate, wrapped in white lace and an understated nude lip. And then, there’s the dark and powerful Kate in what looks to be a black satin dress. The look is completed by the lace head wrap and bold rouge lips.

W magazine editor Stefano Tonchi says the covers play on the archetypal good girl-bad girl dichotomy. And it’s very apparent too, as the rest of the photo shoot is excellently styled with Commes des Garcons, Balenciaga and Oscar de la Renta.

There is no other word to describe the shoot – fierce. Be sure to grab a copy late February – early March.

I just came across this j’adorable new tumblr blog off the MTV FORA blog. What is the premise of this little ditty? It’s just like the tumblr’s name suggests – children with swag.

Though we don’t mind seeing Gwen Stefani’s cutie Kingston Rossdale every so often, the celebrity babies are few and far between. Instead, we see submissions from people all over the world, dressing their kids in the most stylish outfit they can muster.

So far, I’ve seen a handsome little stunner in aBrazilt-shirt, doing his best Victoria Beckham pout. There’s a young porcelain doll who looks like she was ripped off the pages of VogueJapan, decked in a Miu Miu-inspired outfit. And then there’s the slew of Lacoste almost-models, in their preppiest clothing.

I can’t help but squeal at the cuteness of these children! When I grow up and have kids, I swear to you they will just be as stylish.

After being accused of threatening a female vocalist featured on his hit song Marvin’s Room, Drake is now speaking out, saying that he never did anything of the sort.

Ericka Lee filed a lawsuit earlier this week against theTorontorapper, claiming she co-wrote the song, but never received credit. She also says that when she approached the rapper for payment, he threatened her by saying that he had “people” who would deal with “issues like her.”

Meanwhile, Drake’s rep says that this accusation is completely untrue. “This claim is entirely without merit and our client has not engaged in any wrongful conduct,” said the rep. His rep also says that the woman agreed to have her voice used for the single, without payment. “Drake tried for months to resolve the matter amicably, and he now looks forward to being vindicated in court,” said the rep.

Marvin’s Room is from Drake’s 2011 sophomore album Take Care.

When you think about it, $291 million is not only a testament to Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1′s  record breaking popularity in its opening weekend, but also to the genius, magic, detail, and dedication that goes on behind the camera of this pop culture gripping franchise.

In stores February 11, the Twilight Breaking Dawn Part One DVD includes a six-part behind-the-scenes documentary of the making of the film. Director Bill Condon shows fans an interesting look at how the film was achieved in six sections; A New Beginning, The Wedding, The Honeymoon, The Wolf Pack, The Pregnancy, and The Birth.

One scene that stood out from the rest was the wedding scene and how the designers had the difficult job of making the set and décor seem as if it was all naturally part of a forest. This organic idea made the outcome seem like a visual out of Midsummer Night’s Dream.

The documentary also shows how special effect artists created the werewolves in Computer Generated Imagery. An interesting point about this was that since each film in the series has had a different director, each structure for the wolves has looked different. However this time around, Condon wanted to achieve a look similar to the second film New Moon, where the wolves appeared bigger, wetter, and muddier.

In the grand climatic fight scene at the end of the film between the wolves and vampires, viewers were able to get a realistic sense of what actors like Jackson Rathbone and Ashley Greene had to work with for their stunts. It basically involved pretending that giant bean bags were actually vicious wolves. Now that takes skill.

But the most challenging part was trying to show Kristen Stewart over fifty pounds lighter as a dying Bella Swan during pregnancy. In the end, they decided to use a combination of CGI, prosthetics, camera angles and lighting to achieve a pretty disturbing and effective end result.

Other challenges that the crew faced include being stranded on an island in Rio de Janeiro during a rain storm, hiking up a mountain with equipment, and a shivering water fall scene. Overall, the feature is an insightful piece with tons of interesting unseen Twilight experiences.

In November 2010, pop singer Demi Lovato entered rehabilitation because of “emotional and physical” issues. Now, in Demi Lovato: Unbroken, MuchMusic’s Lauren Toyota brings to light Lovato’s incredible journey dealing with bi-polar disorder, eating disorder, depression, cutting and post traumatic stress. Toyota also tries to find out why it was so important for the 19-year-old to become so vocal about the issue post-rehab.

In the feature, the singer and actress, talks to Toyota about her life growing up, being bullied while in public school, and the insecurity that stayed with her when she entered the spot light in Disney’s Camp Rock. She also admits that she wasn’t able to handle the constant pressure of comparing herself to other girls in the industry. This led to struggles such as cutting herself, and dealing with an eating disorder. However since rehab, Lovato has one strong goal in mind; to become an inspirational role model and spokesperson for her issues.

Talk about a comeback year for Kirsten Dunst.

Though most of us might know her from films like Spider-Man and Marie Antoinette, this leading lady is taking 2012 for herself. She won the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actress last year, she’s got a handful of films coming out in 2012, and she’s been widely re-embraced by the public as an American darling. It’s like she never even went away.

Vanity Fair interviews this gorgeous girl, styling her in lots of romantic lace and a muted color palette. Tom Munro, who has also worked with big names like Madonna, Jennifer Lopez and Lady Gaga, photographed the shoot. The femininity of her bedroom-themed photo shoot is through the roof – she looks like a perfect porcelain doll.

We’re positive that Kirsten Dunst is going to be a huge game changer this year – keep your eyes open for her work!

It seems a bit weird to see the Foos in there, considering how old school they are, but then again they’re nominated for Best Remix for their single Rope, which was spliced up by Deadmau5. Better yet, the performance will be on an open air stage outside the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Anybody remember when they caused a minor earthquake during a performance in New Zealand last year? Let’s see how loud they’ll get here.

The Voice kicked off their Season 2 premiere in two parts this week, with coaches Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton experiencing the first rounds of blind auditions. For those unfamiliar with the concept, this is where the coaches sit in chairs facing away from the stage, and listen to contestants perform a song. If any of the judges like what they hear, they push down on a button on their chair, which swivels around to reveal their chosen contestant. If two or more coaches press the button then the contestant must choose which coach to work with.

The part one premiere included a bunch of added talent to the different teams. Blake Shelton started off by convincing 17-year-old country singer RaeLynn to join him after she sang Miranda Lambert’s (Shelton’s wife) Hell on Heels. Shelton openly said he would be able to make her a country star.

Next up was 42-year-old soul singer Jesse Campbell, who had a few life struggles leading up to his performance. His rendition of A Song for You captured the ears and attention of all four judges, leaving him to make a big decision. Cee-Lo Green and Christina Aguilera began fighting over why he should choose them. But Campbell ended up choosing Aguilera, saying “You said you would fight for me, and I’m ready to fight,” he said.

Then there was 25-year-old Juliet Simms, a raspy-voiced rock and roll singer from Florida. Simms got the attention of Levine, Aguilera and Green with her take on Oh! Darling. After Levine and Aguilera bickered a bit over who was more deserving of getting the contestant, Simms ended up choosing the quiet Cee-Lo after he said “Baby, I am so thoroughly impressed and in awe of you. Your voice is amazing. I heard the story of myself and my life in that performance.”

Twenty-nine-year-old Chris Mann was next on stage. The guy studied opera at Vanderbilt University, and decided to belt out his true musical style, which is opera. He performed Andrea Bocelli’s Because We Believe, which got the attention of Green and Aguilera. Aguilera ended up persuading him to join her team, saying, “I know what to do with real vocalists.”

And finally we have Tony Luccam, a former Mousketeer from his days on The Mickey Mouse Club with Aguilera. He decided to sing Ray LaMontagne’s Trouble, which caused Levine, Aguilera, Shelton, and Green to hit their buttons (Levine ended up pushing Green’s button too just before the song ended). “Please, please, for the love of God, pick me,” says Levine.  Lucca ends up picking the Maroon 5 singer. Aguilera didn’t seem to recognize her old cast mate when he was performing, but realized who he was backstage and caught up to say hello and congratulate him.

With that, the roster numbers so far for the season are:

Shelton: 1

Levine: 1

Aguilera: 2

Green: 1

When the second part of the season two premiere kicked off, viewers saw all four coaches on stage performing a Prince medley, which involved costume changes, and a sparkling red Cee-Lo Green. Kinda crazy.

In the auditions, the first act up was a duo from Nashville called the Line. They sang Tom Petty’s American Girl, and grabbed the attention of everyone, except Levine. Aguilera showed that she’s very interested in having them on her team, reminding them how a duo didn’t do well on Shelton’s team last season. They end up going with the pop singer.

Next up was 37-year-old Gwen Sebastian who explained that she’s given up having kids to pursue a career in music. Levine, Cee-Lo and Shelton turned around for her cover of Sugarland, and Sebastian ended up going with Shelton. At this point, Levine had failed to attract a singer to his roster this episode, but found luck with 50-year-old Kim Yarbrough. The large lady belted out Tell Me Something Good, and is persuaded by Levine’s complimentary remarks. Angie Johnson is up next, who sings out a rocked out cover of Heartbreaker, to which Cee-Lo spins around with interest, convincing her to come aboard.  

Jermaine Paul was next on stage. He’s a bulk-up backup singer for Alicia Keys, and also has a young daughter. He sang a gruff version of Complicated which caught the interest of Cee-Lo and Shelton. “I’m glad I turned around, though, because I want you on my team,” says Cee-Lo. Paul counters by thanking him, but saying that he’d rather be needed, than wanted. Or better yet, kept. Blake tells Paul straight up that he has some work to do, but that he’s willing to coach him there. Boom, that’s enough for Paul.

And finally to wrap it all up, Angel Taylor took the stage to sing Adele’s Someone Like You. Levine, Shelton and Cee-Lo all turned their chairs around with interest, and Levine smooth-talked his way into snagging Taylor onto his roster.

With that, the roster numbers so far for the season are:

Shelton: 3

Levine: 3

Aguilera: 4

Green: 3

The Gorillaz, James Murphy, and Andre 3000 are teaming up for Converse’s Three Artists. One Song project. They’ll be releasing a single titled DoYaThing on February 23, which will also have a 12 minute explicit version coming out on a later date.

Gorillaz’s Jamie Hewlett created a music video for the song, featuring “a baboon in a martial arts outfit and a masked topless bloke.” Along with the song, the Gorillaz are also getting their own shoe line. Go figure.

After filing for divorce on Tuesday, Katy Perry and Russell Brand’s agreement could be one of the most normal celebrity divorces ever. According to TMZ, they’ve reached a “comprehensive written settlement.”

As reported yesterday, Brand is refusing to take any of Perry’s money, which would entitle him to approximately $20 million. However, a newly added item is that Perry is taking back her maiden name, Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson.

At this point it would be nice to have some sort of scuffle over ownership of a pet or something.

If Blue Ivy Carter’s fame hasn’t already set her up to be the most valuable baby ever, then how about having herself trademarked. According to the LA Times, Beyoncé and Jay-Z have filed an application to trademark their one-month-old daughter’s name for future use in a possible baby products line, including baby cosmetics.

The power couple filed it after fashion designer Joseph Mbeh sought to trademark the name Blue Ivy Carter NYC on January 11. Another individual tried to claim Blue Ivy Carter IV for a fragrance line on January 20. Both applications have been denied since officials immediately recognized that it was Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s child.

Manafest recently dropped a single from his upcoming album Fighter, called Never Let You Go. The 32-year-old Ontario-born singer anticipates the release of his next record on April 10.

Never Let You Go has the artist talking about staying positive through life’s struggles, and rocks a pretty easy-going and catchy chorus.

Lady Gaga announced details today for the beginning of her upcoming world tour. The pop singer posted information on twitter about the first few tour dates for the Born This Way Ball, saying “the first tour dates for THE BORN THIS WAY BALL will be released. I will also tweet the 1st official tour poster! ? ? ?”

The tour will begin on April 27 in Southeast Asia and Australia, and then potentially move toward Europe, Latin America and North America. “Seeing #BTWBall next to the names of so many different countries on Twitter, its making me so happy (sic)!” she tweeted.

After LMFAO made a brief cameo appearance for Madonna’s performance of Give Me All Your Luvin’ at the Super Bowl, the electro-duo decided to do a remix of the song.

The remix is dubbed Give Me All Your Luvin’ (Party Rock Remix), and surprisingly excludes M.I.A.’s verse from the song, but still keeps Nicki Minaj’s part. Either way, the result is a wicked club banger, and even more promotion for everybody involved.

It’s been 14 years since the then-teenage R&B singers Monica and Brandy collaborated together, but the two singers, now more experienced and grown-up, decided to team up again for It All Belongs To Me.

The duo released the song earlier this week, and the track will be featured on Monica’s upcoming album New Life, set to hit shelves on April 10. The single brings back great R&B vibes, which the two shared on their Grammy Award winning single The Boy Is Mine back in 1998.
