Check out a day On Set with the Degrassi and Playtex winner

Bailey entered MuchMusic and Playtex’s trivia contest this spring and won a trip for her and her bestie Shelby to visit the set of Degrassi and spend the weekend in Toronto. Not only did Bailey and Shelby get to see where their favourite show is filmed, they got to meet the cast of Degrassi as well!

My friend Shelby, my mom and I got to see first-hand how a real TV show is filmed. Arriving on set, Shelby and I were fitted for outfits in wardrobe so that we could be extras in a scene for Degrassi. We had the opportunity to tour the entire set of Degrassi including The Dot, Eli and Clare’s houses and of course the classrooms.

We met some cast members while we were on set, however, we didn’t get to meet Munro like we had hoped, but we did get to see his character, Eli’s locker! His locker, of course, was decorated with punk rock posters.

On our second day in Toronto, we went to the CN Tower, walked through Chinatown, and had a tour of the MuchMusic building. While we were there, we watched a live CP24 weather broadcast, and visited the sets of eTalk and The Marilyn Dennis Show. I am still surprised with how small the studios actually were! We also went inside the MuchMusic studio, where we got to meet two of the VJ’s, Phoebe and Jesse. On our last day in Toronto, we took in a Blue Jay’s game, which was quite the experience to have.

With all these great experience, the highlight of our trip was definitely being extras in a scene for Degrassi and we can’t wait to see the episode that we will be in! Thank you MuchMusic and Playtex for this amazing trip to Toronto!
