What do you get when you take away the divide between the east and the west? You get SonReal and RichKidd with The Closers. Vancouver’s own rapper SonReal and Toronto native emcee and producer RichKidd have teamed up to collaborate on a record that encapsulates the west coast and east coast hip hop sound and refines it. The overall vibe of the album is the balance of tight lyrics, really chill hip hop, and beats you can bob your head to. But to really speak to the lyrics of the album, just listen to songs like Hometown and Best Believe. An optimistic track, Hometown gets real about how it is to look up to hometown heroes, missing people, and swallowing pride. Best Believe is an assurance that both SonReal and RichKidd are going to succeed.
