Here’s something I learned today about first time Oscar nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor. The British actor has a sister, Zain Asher, who is a financial reporter for CNN. Talented family, yes? Here’s another thing I learned today. Zain has the ability to make me cry as much as Love Actually, one of the first films we saw Chiwetel in.
How has Zain accomplished this massive feat? By giving this reaction on live TV while speaking about her brother’s incredibly well deserved Oscar nomination for 12 Years A Slave.
Could she be more happy for her brother? Srsly. So sweet. I haven’t cried this hard since…
Auriel fell in love with Jamie, even though they didn’t speak the same language.
And Jamie totally felt the same and proposed to her on Christmas Eve, even after meeting her crazy family.
Since Sam was all, “I’m 13 and in love” and at first you’re like, um, kid, you’re 13. But his mom just died (and sob) and this kid totally does get love more than most 33 year olds (sob sob for many different reasons).
And then Peter (Chiwetel)looks like THIS when his new wife is walking down the aisle, which in all fairness is a pretty standard reaction if you get to marry Keira Knightley.
Then he plans the MOST beautiful wedding surprises for his new wife Juliet and you’re like, shit, I thought my wedding was nice until I saw this.
And what about his friend Mark, who’s a total twat to Juliet? Oh, he’s just in love with Juliet and can’t do anything because Peter is his best friend. Mark should use all that energy to become a Sheriff and fight zombies, but first he makes us cry.
Zain Asher is making me cry as much as Sarah. First, we’re sooooo happy for Laura Linney for finally getting the hot guy in the office.
But she ends things before they even start because her life is too busy with taking care of her brother. Time for Kleenex box numerou two.
Then we all get to feel like anything is possible when the hottie Prime Minister takes notice in ‘the girl with the big thighs’-Natalie, but of course Billy Bob Thorton screws it all up. Us and our big thighs are crying for you, Natalie.
Let’s not forget Billy Mack, who reminds us that bromance is important at any age. Think, the friendship between the women of Sex and the City, but the city is London and the four women are two old English guys.
Finally, there’s Karen, who figures out that her husband is having an affair with a younger woman, but she totally keeps herself together and is still the coolest. Annnnnd now we’re dry heaving with tears.
In conclusion, thank you Zain. We’ve now had a good, Love Actually-worthy cry thanks to your video and can get on with our day.Tweet
