Ciara is turning up the heat on a Monday with her new single Body Party from her upcoming disc One Woman Army. The album is set to be released this June, but the sexually charged new track marks the disc’s fourth single, following Got Me Good, Sorry and Sweat. In addition to 2 Chainz, who appears on Sweat, One Woman Army also features guest vocals from Rick Ross and Nicki Minaj.
The intimate new song feels like a radio-friendly version of Kelly Rowland’s latest single Kisses Down Low, with Body Party just barely making the cut to be considered PG rated, thus giving it a much bigger lifespan than Rowland’s explicit track. With lyrics like “My body is your party, baby/ Nobody’s invited but you baby/ I can do it slow now, tell me what you want,” and a barely-covered Ciara on the album artwork, the Texas native is carefully straddling the line between album single and secret song at the end of an album.
Written by Ciara and her boyfriend Future, along with Mike WiLL, Ciara gushed to Billboard Magazine about working with Future, saying “He’s such an amazing, creative person. I can be very creatively expressive myself, but there’s nothing like being able to work with someone that can bring a new flavor. What I like about [working with] him, it’s almost like I got to learn more things about myself.”
