Here’s a rundown of all the TIFF action MuchNews experienced over the weekend…
George Clooney praised his animal co-stars on The Men Who Stare At Goats red carpet:
“There was one fantastic goat that I believe should be up for best supporting animal, we’re going to do a little campaign for it, for your consideration.”
The film’s other star, Ewan MacGregor, on the other hand, admitted what we’ve long suspected: that he has access to the fountain of youth.
“It’s true, I have the eternal youthful secret.”
Sarah Taylor scored big on the Precious red carpet with a hug from the most powerful woman in the world: Oprah Winfrey!
Sarah: Oprah I wanna grab you and hug you but I won’t. I won’t.
Oprah: Hey hey woooh!
Sarah: Tell me why young women need to see this movie?
Oprah: Well, young women everywhere need to see this movie ’cause they’re gonna see themselves and their friends.
Ben Barnes kept it self-deprecating on the red carpet for Dorian Gray…
Much: How flattering was it to be cast in a movie that’s all about how good looking you are?
Ben Barnes: Very, very… I know that Ollie the director went around parties in London showing pictures of me, saying “Do you think he’s good enough, can he play this?”
Outside the Triage premiere, Colin Farrell wasn’t buying into his “Irish sex symbol” status. He addressed recent poll where Irish women said he was the one person they wanted to have a child with.
“They must have been locked out of their minds. No, that’s a good a test to Irish drinking as anything, to any statistics that have ever been done.”
On The Informant red carpet, it seemed at first like Matt Damon was dissing the media. But just like he promised, he came back for some quality time with us. What a nice guy.
According to Mr. Damon, lying like he does in the film is completely acceptable.
“Yes it’s definitely okay to lie, and we should lie. There are some things you have to lie about.”
Matt Damon also discussed his appearance at the premiere. He’s slimmed down quite a bit since playing his portly character in The Informant and gave us some dieting tips.
“A lot of running, boxing… that kind of stuff , and then no more cheeseburgers.”
Whip It‘s Drew Barrymore and Ellen Page talked about bonding over the movie’s soundtrack.
“We have a lot of the same taste in music,” Drew said. “Like, for example we both love Peaches, and talk about the ultimate derby girl.”
On the Chloe red carpet, Julianne Moore explained why she enjoyed working with director Atom Egoyan’s script.
“It was interesting for me, it was compelling, exciting, because it’s about how we talk to each other.”
At the premiere of The Joneses, Demi Moore said she’s satisfied in life and doesn’t really feel the need to keep up with the Joneses.
“I truly like to think, that where I am in the present is that I’m not missing anything while at the same time, always seeking to push for more, and to most important better myself.”
