George Clooney is set to host “Hope For Haiti,” a telethon on MTV for the victims of the earthquake in Haiti.
According to a rep for Clooney, MTV, CNN, NBC, ABC and HBO will air the live fundraiser on Friday, January 22nd from 8-10pm ET.
The show will be broadcasted from Los Angeles, New York and Haiti, with all donations going directly to Oxfam America, Partners in Health, the Red Cross, UNICEF and the Yele Haiti Foundation.
Facebook and MySpace will be the telethon’s official social media partners. A formal announcement has not been made on who will be attending “Hope For Haiti”.
However, there are unverified reports that Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner will be invited to take part. Sources also say that Clooney will ask many of his famous friends to participate.
