Canadian Music Week, among other things, is a musical festival where Canadian musicians have the opportunity to showcase their talent. I have always found it very difficult to discover awesome Canadian musicians, having not been too impressed with what music labels love to spew out (with the exceptions of a few). I am willing to take full responsibility and admit that perhaps I have been listening in all the wrong places…
In such a diverse city, this incredible Indie scene has been right under my nose the whole time. The amount of Toronto talent and Canadian artists that have the opportunity to make a name for themselves with the help of festivals such as Canadian Music Week and NXNE deserve your attention! Beginning today at various venues, CMW will open your eyes to a whole new level of Canadian talent, particularly our booming Indie scene. You are bound to find some new music you’ll want to cram your iPod full of!
