Coldplay have announced the title and release date for their upcoming fifth studio album. Mylo Xyloto (pronounced My-lo Zy-letoe) will be released in North American on October 25. Teaming up again with Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends producer Brian Eno, Coldplay have already released their first single, Every Teardrop is a Waterfall, with the second single, Paradise, scheduled to be released on September 12.
The album will be released on October 25 in digital, CD and vinyl, with the vinyl edition including a 12″ x 36″ poster. According to the bands label EMI, “A special limited edition Pop-Up Album version will also be available, which will include a 12″ x 12″ hardback book containing graffiti pop-up art designed by David A. Carter, vinyl, CD and exclusive content including photographs, excerpts from the studio diary and the band’s personal notebooks. Half of the CDs will be packaged with the full color artwork as the cover while the other 50% will have the CD booklet flipped, showing the silver initials “M X” via a die-cut sheet placed over the color image.”
Both versions of the CD cover can be seen below and match the band’s graffiti-inspired video for Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall.
