Coldplay: “U2 Is The Best Band In The World. We’re About Seventh”

October 25th, 2011

Cause that’s what you do when you receive the Best Act In The World Today award from the U.K. Q Awards. You disagree with the honour like Coldplay. After receiving the award, Chris Martin went on to disagree with the win, saying, “”U2 are the best band in the world at the moment. We are about seventh“.

U2 ended up getting their own honour last last night in London at the ceremony. U2 grabbed the Greatest Act of the Last 25 Years award. So maybe Coldplay will sleep a little easier now.

Noel Gallagher was awarded a Q Icon award for his work with Oasis, but said the award did not come close to another big win from the weekend – his favourite soccer team Manchester City beating out Manchester United 6-1.

No award can compare to that. That was the best day of my life, bar my children being born” he said as he won.

Other winner’s include Adele‘s double win for “Rolling in the Deep“, Tinie Tempah, Brian May and Roger Taylor of Queen, Gary Barlow of Take That and Fatboy Slim.
