Last night after we watched The Hills, we flipped channels for a while before we landed on the new Common “joint” (haha) featuring Lily Allen called Drivin’ Me Wild on Rap City.

How much do I love this song!? We were all kinda mesmerized by the combination of Common & Lily Allen together. We agreed that Lily’s makeup could have used a refresher, but her makeup and general style are so bang on that we let it slide. And Common’s lyrics in the song…albeit a bit cheesy, are at least culturally relevant, with references to MySpace, Reese & Ryan, OK GO and treadmills (man, those guys are everywhere!). Make no mistake though - the melody is sweet and the song is genius.

And later on that night the topic of Common’s collabo with Lily Allen came up again with a separate group of friends - was everyone watching Rap City last night or what?!
