From a collection of essays, to a mega-popular HBO show, to a film franchise and powerhouse fashion and beauty brand all over the world, Sex and the City is really a one of a kind phenomenon. Now another show is in the works, based on The Carrie Diaries, a prologue to the Sex and The city book series written by Candace Bushnell. The show will follow a young Carrie Bradshaw and we can’t wait to see the pilot. Carrie in the 80′s must be fab!

Gossip Girl producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are signed on to produce the show and Gossip Girl costumer designer Eric Daman will also join the team. Amy Harris, who wrote on the original SATC series, wrote the pilot for The Carrie Diaries.

AnnaSophia Robb has been cast in the coveted role of the high school Carrie. If you’re not familiar with Robb, she’s been in a handful of kid-friendly films, including Bridge to Terabithis, Race to Witch Mountain and the wacky Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. At 18 years old and all grown up, I’m excited to see what she’ll do with the role! Definitely tuning into this one!
