Kyle and I are both mere moments away from bursting into flames with the announcement of these two shows:

May 9 - Cut Copy & Black Kids @ Lee’s Palace
May 30 - M83 @ Mod Club Theatre

!!!

Facts:
I’m obsessed with Cut Copy - I saw them open for Franz Ferdinand in 2006 and DJ afterwards at The Gladstone, and have been waiting for word of a new album and accompanying North American tour (they’re from Australia) ever since that day. New album In Ghost Colours comes out on April 8 and was produced by Tim Goldsworthy, who rubs elbows with the likes of James Lavelle (UNKLE) and James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem), and is also co-founder of DFA Records. Also, according to MySpace, Cut Copy sound like “your ex-wife”.

M83’s 2005 show with Ulrich Schnauss at Lee’s Palace ranks as one of my top five shows of all time. I was a little sick that night, and after the show I had full blown laryngitis from yelling so much, followed by a ruthless case of whooping cough. Yes, I’m an adult and I had whooping cough in the 21st century. The government was beating down my door for swab samples and pleading with me to keep away from small children.

Black Kids (not to be confused with Cool Kids or Black Ghosts) have a killer debut EP called Wizard Of Ahhs that you must hear. I’m Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How To Dance With You was listed on countless “best singles of 2007″ lists and is being released as a proper single in early April. You should listen to it now on the band’s MySpace page.
