Yessss!
Exclaim.ca is reporting that Cut Copy have set a date for the release of a followup to Bright Like Neon Love - I agree that it’s a shamefully underappreciated album by the Australian trio. It’s so, so good. And get this - Cut Copy have been openers on a couple of Daft Punk dates. How amazing would that show be!?
The new album, In Ghost Colours will be released in March 2008. The second single from it is called So Haunted and is produced by DFA’s Tim Goldsworthy and is STELLAR. You can listen to it on the band’s MySpace page. Recall how amazing the first single Hearts On Fire was - it’s also on their MySpace page.
Unfortunately for us, Cut Copy are spending the next few months puttering around in their native Australia, and it’ll be a while before they make it back to North America. I saw them (oddly enough) open for Franz Ferdinand about two years ago in a cavernous arena that did nothing to showcase how dancetastic they are. Can’t wait for them to come back to support this album, hopefully in spring or summer 2008!
