Dear John beats Avatar

Avatar has finally been dethroned. The highest-grossing movie of all time was knocked from its #1 position by Dear John, the romantic drama starring Amanda Seyfried and Channing Tatum.

The film made $32.4 million in its opening weekend, while Avatar only made another $23.6 million. Still, it’s unlikely that Dear John will beat Avatar‘s $2.2 billion in worldwide sales.

Reportedly, the Dear John audience was 84% female…
