I’ve been a moderate fan of Death Cab for Cutie for a while now, but the loving has been taken to a new level! I’m not saying that I didn’t care for old DCFC, it’s just I AM SO OBSESSED AND IMPRSSED WITH THEIR NEW SINGLE! Prefaced by a 4 minute instrumental intro, Ben Gibbard creepily sings about possessing his love’s heart. EEK! It’s Death Cab taken to the next level with a dark eerie sound - and it’s captivating!

The new 8 minute single I Will Possess Your Heart is off of the band’s upcoming album Narrow Stairs (release date: May 13). Sometimes a new album from a band you already like disappoints, but if the single is any indication, Death Cab’s new album is sure to be nothing short of splendid (in a new strange way)!

The music video has recently been released and it fits with the song quite nicely. The 8 minutes quickly pass as you watch the beautifully shot scenes of a mysterious girl traveling around the world, while Death Cab jams in a seemingly freezing warehouse. How cool!

Before I heard the new single I was only debating about going to Death Cab’s Olympic Island show, but now there’s no doubt that I will be there. Well, I still have to buy tickets…

ANYWAY! The show is Saturday, June 7 on Toronto Island, and Stars are set to open! Hope to see everyone there with blankets!
