For music fans, this morning meant the unveiling of the line-up for Coachella 2011. And while it was cool to see that Kanye and Arcade Fire were actually headlining, the name that stuck out most to a lot of people was “Death From Above 1979.” Yeah, the Toronto based noise-pop duo that broke up in 2006 after a turbulent ride.
As Eye Weekly points out, the band’s break up was due to “personal” differences, which both Sebastien Grainger and Jesse F. Keeler were both vocal about.
Coachella is known to pay big bucks for bands it wants, and igniting reunions have been one of its signature moves. Whether it was Coachella or not, it’s great to have them back. But let’s hope it’s only the beginning, because everyone needs a chance to see just how awesome they are live.Tweet
