He went from the halls of Degrassi and a future at Yale with Holly J. to….strutting his stuff around 20th Century Fox Studios? Declan Coyne AKA Landon Liboiron has recently been cast in Terra Nova, a new science fiction show premiering on Fox in Fall 2011.
Actually, Liboiron is leaving North America altogether for the show – it shoots in Australia.
Liboiron has been cast as Josh, the 17-year-old son of the Shannon family in the year 2149. The family travels back in time in the hopes of escaping humanity’s impending extinction in the future.
Its been described as a “high-concept sci-fi drama”. So just go with it.
If the show does well, he’ll join other successful Degrassi alumni breaking out in the States (Shenae Grimes, Nina Dobrev and Drake).
Other Terra Nova cast members include: Jason O’Mara (Band of Brothers) as the head of the family, Shelley Conn (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) as younger sister Elisabeth, plus newcomers Naomi Scott and Alana Mansour as even younger sisters Maddy and Zoe, Stephan Lang (Avatar) as Commander Frank Taylor, Mido Hamada (24) as security head Guzman and Allison Miller (Boston Legal) as Skye, a guide for Liboiron.
Fox will air a sneak peek episode (a la Glee) in May 2011 to tease audiences.
What do you think? Should he have stuck it out with Holly J.?
