Atlanta’s Deerhunter are an uncompromising gang of misfits. They don’t follow trends, they don’t do much press and they’ve only ever released one video to date, 2010′s “Helicopter.” Today they chose to break the spell and give the catchiest song from their latest album, Monomania, a clip it deserves. Directed by Oliver Groulx, “Back to the Middle” is a pretty simple concept: shot in black and white with one camera on actor Durassie Kiangangu, who continually dances in a dress you’d see on one of the Supremes back in the day. The timing for this video works nicely for Deerhunter fans in Toronto. The band are playing a sold-out show at the Phoenix Concert Theatre tonight, along with Marnie Stern and Mas Ya.Tweet
