Degrassi Episode 27: Three’s a crowd

Declan returns to Degrassi for the Grundy’s, but it looks like he’s hoping to come home with more than just a trophy. Clare takes drastic measures to get back at her parents for fighting and Chantay is ready to take on the school to get the Power Squad back. Spoiler alert! Our boyfriends are back! Our boyfriend are back! That’s right, Declan has returned to Degrassi to win back Holly J and Eli’s suspension is FINALLY over. Hai thurre Episode 27. I lurve you.

Like Backstreet, Declan is back. He’s in town for the Grundy Theatre Awards (nice cover), but we know that he’s really back for H to the J, Ms. Sinclair herself.

Declan and Holly J haven’t spoken since breaking up a month ago (time flies!), but he gets down to business and asks her to join him for lunch the moment he spots her.

Fiona finally gives him the heads up that Holly J is, like, so into Sav. Holly J gives Sav the heads up that she’s having lunch. Can someone please give either Declan or Sav the heads up that I’d like to have lunch with them?

Holly J promises Sav that she’s happy with him and has no intention in getting back together with Declan, but, come on…

…cute as a button. Declan tells Holly J that he took what she said about him using money to fix his problems to heart and has started a charity. For kids. Oy. Good luck, Sav.

Declan isn’t the only person trying to win someone over. Chantay is mad freakin’ over Power Squad being cancelled. She asks Mr. Simpson to reconsider, but he won’t allow any clubs without a teacher supervisor as per the new rules. Gimme a B, gimme an U, gimme a M, gimme a M…you get it.

In news that isn’t a bummer, Eli is back, y’all! I’ve never been so happy for a suspension to be over. Also, smooth moves on clearing the desks. He’s like a young Bruce Jenner.

Clare has forgiven Eli for fighting with Fitz and he wants to make everything up to her (you know, making her watch him almost get stabbed and stuff) by going on a real first date. He’s gotten tickets to hear author Chuck Palahniuk (Fight Club, etc.) speak that night, but Clare has the Grundy awards and her parents have agreed to take a break from constantly fighting and go with her.

That night Sav accompanies Holly J to the Grundy’s and guess who sneaks the empty seat right next to Holly J? Well, it ain’t Santa Claus, but this person also gives out lots of presents.

Clare is at the Grundy’s with her parents, who haven’t stopped fighting the entire time. They also don’t want Clare to go out with Eli after the banquet because they need to ‘talk’ do her. I assume this talk starts with a ‘d’ and ends in ‘vorce’. Clare wins the award she was nominated for, but her parents don’t even notice because they’re too busy being mad at each other. Eli is there to support Clare and she decides to ditch her parents and go to the reading with Eli, ignoring their calls and missing her curfew.

The night is full of winners for Degrassi. Declan has also won a Grundy and is dedicating the award, and apparently his entire life, to Holly J. Oy. Seriously Sav, good luck.

The Coynes are throwing a party back at Fiona’s crib and Holly J and Sav agree to go.

Declan has a plan to get Holly J away from Sav and it comes in the form of playing with an iPad. What was that about not using money to fix things, Declan?

With Sav distracted with his fancy toy, Declan makes him move and tells Holly J that he loves her and wants her back.

Holly J tells Declan that she’s happy with Sav and doesn’t want to be back together with Declan.

Obviously bummed, Declan tells Fiona that his plan didn’t work. All of sudden Fiona goes from sober to drunk in one sip.

Holly J stays to help take care of a drunk Fiona, giving Declan a chance to make his move. Methinks Ms. Coyne is a faker and a nice sister.

But it doesn’t look like Holly J is such a nice girlfriend. Roh row!!!

Clare is getting very comfortable with her wild side and even convinces Eli that they should get piercings. But with the phone calls from her parents increasing Eli decides to call it a night. He wants to be able to take Clare out again and doesn’t think he’ll be able to do that if Clare’s dad kills him.

Finally home, Clare’s parents are livid that she’s been out so late. Mad at them for always fighting, Clare gives them her version of flipping the bird by showing off her piercing and peaces out to her bedroom.

Chantay has called an emergency Power Squad meeting and only Marisol and Anya show up. Ya…I don’t think anyone wants to get suspended over the Power Squad…or at all.

Will Holly J get back together with Declan and leave Sav? Was Fiona actually drunk again? Will Clare ever be allowed out of her house? Is Chantay going to get the Power Squad back? Find out next week on an all new episode of Degrassi on Friday night at 9pm ET!
