Degrassi Episode 35: New Friends Not Accepted?

Alli’s new friend is not what she seems, Drew finds that his actions have consequences and Riley takes a big step closer to coming out to his parents. Find out what happened on this week’s episode of Degrassi after the jump!

Things haven’t gotten any easier for Alli now that she’s at the all-girls school. She hasn’t made any friends and is starting to doubt whether her parents will ever realize that she’s really trying to change.

She gets a pep talk from her older brother Sav and decides to try and approach Malika, a girl who is in a family that the Bhandari’s know.

Malika is about as friendly as a pissed off bear and looks at Alli like she just tried to introduce herself after throwing up on her uniform. Still, Alli turns on the charm and invites Malika over for dinner and ‘nice’ girl accepts the invite.

Mrs. Bhandari has a huge mom crush on Malika, who plays the good girl role like a pro. Alli is happy to finally have a friend at school and invites Malika to sleep over after dinner. Unfortunately, Malika takes this opportunity to sneak out of the Bhandari’s house and meet her boyfriend. Alli is panicked that her parents will find out, but desperate to have a friend agrees to cover for Malika. Malika tells Alli that she’ll be back before dawn, but she gets back late and almost gets caught by the Bhandari’s. After Alli recuperates from her almost-heart attack, she finds cigarettes in Malika’s bag. Talk about good girl gone bad. Oh Alli, go back to eating your lunch in the bathroom. This chick is gonna get your expelled fo sho.

Alli’s ex, Drew, is also finding that he’s not feeling the love at school. The basketball team is heading towards the finals, but Drew’s excitement quickly fades when he tries to hang out with his teammates Dave and KC and they’re in double-date mode.

Drew tries to find a date, but KC gives Drew the news that apparently every good at school saw the same Las Vegas episode we saw and are treating Drew like a leper after he hooked up with Bianca. Girl power, baby.

Bummed about his rep, or lack thereof, Drew gets his inner Biebs on and drums out his feelings.

Bianca finds Drew in the music room and the two decide to start back up where they left off in the boiler room, since Bianca actually likes Drew and Drew can’t get anyone else to date him. Um, sweet?

Drew is excited to now have a girlfriend and tells Dave and KC that he can hang out with them again because he’s got himself a lady. Dave and KC are excited for Drew, until they find out that the girl is Bianca. KC reminds Drew that his brain gets fuzzy around Bianca and to make sure he stays focused at the big game. Drew is focused…until Bianca shows up. Drew gets a basketball in the head, but manages to pull together in time to help the team win the game, securing them a spot in the finals. Goooooo Panthers!

After the game, Drew and Bianca try to make plans to hang out with KC and Jenna and Dave and Sadie, but Jenna puts all her morning sickness into words and throws up some mean words on Bianca. Not cool, J Dizzle.

One of our fave couples is back, y’all! Zane (le sigh) invites Riley to an art show that his ex is throwing, but Riley, who is not at art fan, declines the offer. Riley explains to Anya that he doesn’t have to like things just because his boyfriend does and Anya explains that his theory is good if he wants to be single.

Anya helps Riley get ready for the art show, which includes a make over (thumps up for the hair cut). Riley surprises Zane and the art show and even makes a good impression on Zane’s ex, Thomas.

That is until Riley gives two well-dressed thumbs down to Thomas’ art. Whooooopsie.

Zane comes over to Riley’s house after talking Thomas off the ledge and thanks his boyfriend for making such an effort.

Unfortunately Riley’s mom walks in on Zane thanking Riley with a make out session and runs out of the room. Zane leaves and Riley tries to talk to his mom about what she walked in on, but she pretends like she didn’t see anything.

Will Riley be able to come out to his parents? Will anyone accept Bianca as Drew’s girlfriend? Will Alli make it a week without getting into trouble? Find out next week on an all new episode of Degrassi at 9pm ET exclusively on MuchMusic!
