Holly J., Fiona, The Bhandaris, Eli, Clare and all the rest of the Degrassi students have ditched their uniforms, packed their bags, and left their drama in the halls of Degrassi to make new halls for kids in Haiti.

Aptly named Degrassi In Haiti, the special follows all your favourite Degrassi actors as they encounter the heat, sweat, tears, fears and unforgettable experiences while creating something truly special for kids less fortunate.

1. What is one essential item you packed for your trip?

Sunscreen! I forgot to put it on the first day at the playground build, and paid for it for the rest of the trip!

2. What is one thing you learned about another cast member?

Something I learned about my cast members is that Mindy and Chloe make great roommates.

3. Who is the best travel partner?

Raymond is one of my favourite travel partners! We spent most of the bus rides in Ecuador together, so now he’s my go-to travel buddy.

4. What was your most important moment on the trip?

The moment we arrived was the most important for me. We were suddenly immersed into this other culture that was full of strength and resilience! Feeling all of that filled me with an incredible amount of drive that kept me in a state of determination the whole trip.

5. How do you describe Haiti and your trip to friends?

Beautiful and strong! Haiti is an incredible place and I desperately want to go back. I tell anyone who will listen about the trip, sometimes twice. My friends can tell you, if you ask me about Haiti, I’ll talk your ear off ;)
