Love the music on Degrassi? Wanna find out how the amazing Music Supervisors behind your fave show pick the songs for each episode of Degrassi? MuchMusic brings you the exclusive behind-the-scenes scoop on how each song is chosen! You can listen to songs from every episode of Degrassi here!
Bears by Nightbox
Degrassi radio feature.
We saw this band a year ago and they blew our socks off. If you get a chance to catch Nightbox anywhere – do it. The song fit so well in this scene and with some careful timing, it even accentuated Eli’s frustration in the sweat lodge.
Riverside by Agnes Obel
Katie and Marisol have a falling out in the washroom.
We tried a few things here, a couple songs and some score, but in the end Agnes Obel was the perfect placement. We heard her music and kept it in mind and this bitter breaking of a long endured friendship was the right moment for her voice to be heard and comfort us.
Wake Up by San Sebastian
Katie’s presidential victory.
San Sebastian was one the bands that made it through MuchMusic’s disBAND show and we’re really happy they did. They were brought to the attention of the entire industry and so this spot is well-deserved, and the song reverbs success and triumph through the clapping and cheering in the scene.
