Just Like The Movies by The Playdates
Graduation ceremony feature.
The moment we heard this song we knew it was a Degrassi tune, we just didn’t know it would hit at such a prominent place in the storyline. Jim McGrath, composer and music editor, suggested we have this song over the diploma scene, and what an incredible vision it turned out to be, almost written for the episode. Of course, the irony is that this is, literally, just like the movies.
Sorrows by Aidan Knight
Hands in the cement, sad moment!
This was the first time an A Cappella song was featured in Degrassi and such an emotional moment to boot. The song is derived from Aidan Knight’s song “Jasper” on the same album (go check that one out as well) and pretty much features the chorus, alone, powerful and triumphant. We feel all these emotions when the girls leave their mark on Degrassi’s doorstep.
