Chosen by the director, Stefan Brogren, the sweet tones of Sam Beam’s Passing Afternoon give this scene proper meaning because it’s so sincere and introspective. As Eli and Clare lie beneath the stars in each others’ arms, the song plays like cicadas in the background, pleasant, present, a lovely soundtrack to the Degrassi lovers under the night sky.
