The Summer Finale is almost here! It’s time to get caught up with the students of Degrassi and get you ready for the biggest finale ever! Today we look at Alli, Drew and Chantay!
There are only four episodes of Degrassi left until the huge Summer Finale finale on Thursday August 26 at 9pm ET! You don’t want to miss a second of the action! Watch Degrassi Monday – Thursday nights at 9pm ET on MuchMusic!
Past: Little sister to Degrassi President Sav, Alli is always trying to make her way into the Degrassi spotlight. In the past that has included dating older boy Johnny and even losing her virginity to him and getting a STD, creating a mean Facerange page about Holly J that got Alli arrested, and sneaking sexy clothes in her backpack to change into every morning before school. Alli is in the gifted class and is besties with Clare and Jenna.
This season: Desperate to be part of the popular group, Alli tried out for the Power Squad, but didn’t make the final cut. She formed her own dance group, but that folded when the group found out she was more interested in being popular than being a good dancer. Alli has had her sight set on Drew, the new football player, and after throwing a party to get his attention the two are now dating.
Did you know: On Degrassi Alli has no rhythm and doesn’t make the Power Squad. In real life, Melinda Shankar, who plays Alli, has been dancing for over ten years!
Past: As a member of the Power Squad and the voice behind Degrassi’s gossip blog, Chantay always knows what everyone at school is doing. In the past Chantay has dated Danny Van Zandt, who has now graduated from Degrassi.
This Season: Chantay is friends with fellow seniors Holly J and Anya. She is now the Captain of the Power Squad and even tries to help Alli with her audition for the team. Chantay cautioned Holly J about her relationship with Declan when Declan tried to buy Holly J’s affection.
Did you know: No only does Jajube Mandiela play Power Squad captain Chantay on Degrassi, but in real life Jajube is a member of the University of Toronto gymnastics club!

Past: Drew transferred to Degrassi so that his brother Adam, a FTM transgendered teen, wouldn’t be alone at school. Drew talks about past relationships with girlfriends, but says that he’s never dated anyone seriously. At his old school he was the starting quarterback for the varsity team even though he’s not a senior.
This Season: Drew got off to a rocky start when he went out for the position of starting quarterback for Degrassi, a position held by senior Riley Stavros. Suspecting that Riley was gay, Drew blackmailed Riley to step down from his position as QB1. Riley retaliated by hazing Drew.
The hazing wasn’t the only violence that Drew has seen this season. When bullies Owen and Fitz found out that Drew’s brother Adam was born a girl they assaulted Adam. Drew went after Fitz and ended up getting beat up as well.
Drew got the attention of most of the girls at Degrassi, especially Alli. When Alli handed in an essay for Drew he broke up with her, thinking that she was calling him stupid because he couldn’t write his own paper. Drew apologized to Alli and they are going strong.
Did you know: Luke Bilyk, who plays Drew, has three older sister’s who he credits with giving him a great fashion sense.Tweet
