Raise your hand if you have a crippling fear of public speaking. Okay, now keep your hand up if you would ever consider conquering that fear by doing stand-up comedy. [Insert cricket noises]
Well, four guys are about to do just that in the upcoming film, Delivery. Mark, Shane, Bert and Sean are all going to attempt stand-up for the first time and the movie not only crashes Montreal’s Just For Laughs Comedy Festival to interview comedians like Russell Peters and Video On Trial’s Trevor Boris, but it also follows the personal journey of the four guys.
Mark is about to become a dad for the first time, Shane deals with a fear of failure, Bert is a 71-year-old man who wants to tackle stand-up for fun and Sean has learned that his estranged dad is dying of cancer and is finally getting to know him in his final months.
It’s a movie that’s based in the world of comedy and is bound to make you LOL a few times, but there’s also a lot of heart at the centre of this tale and we can almost guarantee you that you’ll need a box of tissues while watching Delivery; definitely a must-see in our books.
Oh, and if Mark looks familiar, it may be because he used to be a Temp at Much!
Check out the trailer for Delivery below! The film will open in Toronto at The Carlton on September 26 and will be on Video On Demand on September 30.
