Demi Lovato makes an inspiring speech after fan throws a Barbie doll onstage

Demi Lovato has become quite the spokesperson for troubled teens dealing with eating disorders, bullying and substance abuse. Having gone through all of those issues, Lovato gave an inspiring speech to fans during a recent concert.

“I’ve been through so much in my 20 years of life,” Lovato tells the audience. “It’s very important that I share this story with you guys.

“I know how you guys feel and I want to show you guys that you can get through it because I’m living proof right here.”

The singer then goes on to pick up a Barbie doll that a fan had thrown onstage and tells the audience that she finds it quite ironic because “I spent my whole life trying to be this and trying to look like this.”

“And guess what?” she continues. “I’m not this. And it means the world to me that you guys still love me no matter what.”

Lovato completes her speech by throwing the doll away before going into her hit single Skyscraper. What an inspiration!
